Old Testament

Jaziz the Hagrite was in charge of King David's flocks.

Jaziz the Hagrite was appointed by King David as the overseer of the royal flocks (1 Chronicles 27:31). The Hagrites were a pastoral people of the Arabian steppe against whom the Transjordanian tribes of Israel had fought successful campaigns (1 Chronicles 5:10, 18–22), yet here a Hagrite serves in the royal administration. David's willingness to entrust his livestock to a man of Hagrite origin reflects the pragmatic approach to governance that characterized his reign.
