Jozacar (or Zabad), along with Jehozabad, was one of the servants who conspired against and killed King Joash of Judah.
Jozacar (also known as Zabad) was one of the two servants who assassinated King Joash of Judah at Beth-millo on the road to Silla (2 Kings 12:21; 2 Chronicles 24:26). He and his accomplice Jehozabad acted apparently in retaliation for the king's murder of Zechariah son of Jehoiada the priest. The variant name Zabad in Chronicles identifies his mother as an Ammonitess, reflecting the mixed ancestry common in the Judahite court. His act ended a reign that had begun well but deteriorated after Jehoiada's death.
