'And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.' This doxology closes both Psalm 72 and Book II of the Psalter, representing the culmination of the Solomonic royal psalm's vision of universal peace and justice. The prayer 'let the whole earth be filled with his glory' echoes Numbers 14:21 and anticipates Habakkuk 2:14's promise that the earth will be 'filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.' Revelation 21:23-24's New Jerusalem filled with divine glory represents the eschatological fulfillment of this doxological prayer.
