Jubilee

Every fiftieth year, a year of liberty proclaimed with the sounding of the ram's horn (yovel). Slaves were freed, debts cancelled, and ancestral land returned to original families (Leviticus 25). Jesus' mission statement in Luke 4 echoes jubilee language.
