Amos 9:14
And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

Study Note
God's promise to 'bring again the captivity of my people of Israel' and restore their ruined cities forms the penultimate note in Amos's eschatological coda. The agricultural abundance promised — planting vineyards, drinking their wine, making gardens, eating their fruit — deliberately reverses the curses of Amos 5:11, where the people planted vineyards but would not drink their wine. This pattern of curse-reversal is a standard feature of prophetic eschatology (Isaiah 65:21-22; Micah 4:4), grounding future hope in the undoing of present covenant penalties. The verse affirms that Israel's dispossession is not permanent but disciplinary, and that restoration is as certain as the judgment that preceded it.
