Appaim

Tribe of Judah · H0649
Old Testament

Appaim was a descendant of Judah, mentioned in the genealogy of the tribe of Judah.

Appaim was a descendant of Judah through Jerahmeel, the son of Nadab and brother of Ishi, listed in the genealogical record of 1 Chronicles 2:30–31. He was the father of Ishi, who in turn fathered Sheshan. The Jerahmeelite families recorded in 1 Chronicles 2:25–41 occupied territory in the southern Negev and maintained their own distinct genealogical records. The detailed preservation of these families in Chronicles reflects the importance of complete genealogical memory for the reconstituted community of Judah after the exile. Appaim appears in no narrative episode.
