Asshurim

The Asshurim (not to be confused with Asshur, ancestor of the Assyrians) were descendants of Abraham through his son Jokshan and grandson Dedan (Genesis 25:3). They are listed alongside the Letushim and Leummim as sub-groups of the Dedanites, associated with the northwestern Arabian peninsula and the region of Edom. These Abrahamic descendants through Keturah were sent eastward to distinguish them from the Isaac covenant line (Genesis 25:6). The Asshurim are mentioned only in this single genealogical reference and are entirely unknown outside the Table of Nations tradition.
