Old Testament

Azbuk was the father of Nehemiah, who repaired a section of Jerusalem's wall near the tombs of David (Neh.3.16).

Azbuk was the father of Nehemiah, a district ruler who repaired a section of Jerusalem's wall opposite the sepulchres of David and as far as the pool of Siloam (Nehemiah 3:16). His son is distinct from Nehemiah the governor and is one of many community leaders who contributed to the restoration of the city's defenses following the return from exile. Azbuk himself is known only through his son's act of civic faithfulness.
