Elizaphan

Exodus & Wilderness Tribe of Levi · H0469G
Old Testament

Elizaphan was a Levite leader from the Kohathite clan, responsible for various duties in the tabernacle and temple.

Elizaphan was a son of Uzziel and a leader among the Kohathite Levites during the wilderness period, mentioned in Numbers 3:30 as the chief of the Kohathite clan responsible for the most holy objects of the tabernacle. He appears again in Numbers 34:25 as a representative leader in the allotment of the Promised Land for the tribe of Zebulun. His role in transporting the sacred furniture of the tabernacle placed him among those entrusted with Israel's most solemn liturgical responsibilities.
