Hashubah was a descendant of King Jeconiah (Jehoiachin) of Judah.
Hashubah was a son of Zerubbabel the governor, listed in 1 Chronicles 3:20 among the post-exilic descendants of the Davidic royal line. He is one of six sons of Zerubbabel mentioned in this passage, born in the period of Exile and Return. His place in the royal genealogy of Chronicles reflects the Chronicler's concern to demonstrate the continuity of the Davidic dynasty through and beyond the Babylonian captivity.
