Nepheg

United Kingdom Tribe of Judah · H5298H
Old Testament

Nepheg was one of the sons of King David, born to him in Jerusalem.

Nepheg was one of the sons born to King David in Jerusalem by one of his wives or concubines, listed among the eleven sons born to him there after he moved his capital from Hebron (2 Samuel 5:15; 1 Chronicles 3:7; 14:6). He appears only in these birth lists and plays no role in the biblical narrative. His name, meaning 'sprout' or 'shoot,' reflects the theophoric or nature-based naming conventions of the period.
