Old Testament

Palti (Paltiel), son of Laish, was Michal's husband from Gallim before she was taken back by David.

Palti son of Laish from Gallim became the husband of Michal, Saul's daughter and David's first wife, after Saul gave her away during David's years as a fugitive (1 Samuel 25:44). When David demanded Michal's return as a condition for his treaty with Abner and Ish-bosheth, Palti—also called Paltiel—followed his wife weeping all the way to Bahurim until Abner ordered him to turn back (2 Samuel 3:15–16). The image of Palti following and weeping is one of the most poignant minor scenes in the books of Samuel.
