Shobi was an Ammonite who brought supplies to David at Mahanaim when he was fleeing from his son Absalom.
Shobi was the son of Nahash from Rabbah of the Ammonites who, together with Machir son of Ammiel and Barzillai the Gileadite, brought provisions to David and his followers at Mahanaim during Absalom's revolt (2 Samuel 17:27–29). His loyal support for David despite his Ammonite origin suggests a positive relationship between David and at least one faction of the Ammonite nobility.
