Tahath was a Levite of the Kohathite clan, the son of Assir and father of Uriel, listed in the genealogy of 1 Chronicles 6:24. He belongs to the line of Kohathite Levites descending from Izhar, the brother of Amram, and thus from the same priestly lineage that produced Moses and Aaron.
