Preaching
The public proclamation of God's Word, central to biblical ministry from Moses to the apostles. Noah was 'a preacher of righteousness' (2 Peter 2:5). Nehemiah and the Levites read and explained the law publicly (Nehemiah 8:1-8). Jesus' preaching launched his ministry: 'Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near' (Matthew 4:17). Peter's Pentecost sermon brought 3,000 to faith (Acts 2:14-41). Paul declared, 'It pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe' (1 Corinthians 1:21). He charged Timothy: 'Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season' (2 Timothy 4:2). Preaching remains God's chosen means of communicating his truth.
