Isaiah 2:3

KJV

And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

Study Note

The promise that 'out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem' describes the universal teaching authority of YHWH in the eschatological age, when Torah will be received not under coercion but by the willing pilgrimage of the nations. The phrase 'He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths' echoes the pedagogical role of Torah in Deuteronomy but extends it to all peoples. Early Christians read the global spread of the gospel from Jerusalem (Luke 24:47; Acts 1:8) as the fulfillment of this oracle, replacing Torah observance with apostolic proclamation. The verse continues into the famous 'swords into plowshares' image (verse 4), making Zion-centered instruction the precondition for universal peace.
