Adalia was one of the ten sons of Haman, the enemy of the Jews, who was killed along with his brothers.
Adalia was one of the ten sons of Haman the Agagite, the chief minister of King Ahasuerus who had plotted the genocide of all Jews in the Persian Empire (Esther 9:8). Following the reversal of Haman's decree and the Jews' counter-attack on their enemies, Adalia and his nine brothers were killed on the thirteenth of Adar in Susa. The ten sons of Haman are listed in the book of Esther in a distinctive column format, emphasizing the total overthrow of the man who had threatened Israel's existence. Their deaths fulfilled the principle of measure-for-measure divine justice central to the narrative of Esther.
