Akkub

Divided Kingdom Tribe of Judah · H6126G
Old Testament

Akkub was a descendant of King Jehoiachin of Judah, listed in the genealogy of the royal line.

Akkub was a descendant of King Jehoiachin (Jeconiah) of Judah, listed in the post-exilic genealogy of the Davidic royal house in 1 Chronicles 3:24. He represents one of the later generations of the royal line preserved after the Babylonian exile, when the Davidic dynasty no longer ruled but its genealogical continuity was carefully maintained. Several other men named Akkub appear in the post-exilic records—including Levitical gatekeepers and a teacher of the Law (Nehemiah 8:7; Ezra 2:42)—reflecting the common use of this name in the restoration community.
