The Arkites were one of the Canaanite tribes descended from Canaan, the son of Ham, and are mentioned in the Table of Nations.
The Arkites were one of the Canaanite clans descended from Canaan son of Ham, listed in the Table of Nations (Genesis 10:17; 1 Chronicles 1:15). They are generally identified with the ancient city of Arka (modern Tell Arqa) in northern Lebanon, south of Tripoli. The Arkites represent one of the smaller Canaanite peoples whose territories lay along the northern Levantine coast. No narrative involving the Arkites as an active group appears in the Old Testament; their mention is entirely within the Table of Nations and its parallel in Chronicles.
