Drusilla, the Jewish wife of Felix, the Roman governor, was present when Paul spoke to Felix about faith in Christ.
Drusilla was a Jewish woman, the daughter of Herod Agrippa I and the great-granddaughter of Herod the Great, who had left her first husband Azizus, king of Emesa, to marry Felix, the Roman governor of Judea (Acts 24:24). She and Felix summoned Paul and listened to him speak about faith in Christ Jesus, justice, self-control, and the coming judgment. Felix was alarmed and dismissed Paul, hoping eventually for a bribe. Drusilla's presence at this hearing reflects the complex intersection of Jewish royalty, Roman power, and emerging Christianity in mid-first century Judea.
