Old Testament

Hiddai (also called Hurai) from the brooks of Gaash was one of David's mighty men, known for his valor and military prowess.

Hiddai from the brooks of Gaash, also called Hurai in 1 Chronicles 11:32, was one of David's thirty mighty warriors listed in 2 Samuel 23:30. His home near the brooks of Gaash in the hill country of Ephraim connects him geographically to the burial site of Joshua (Joshua 24:30). The dual naming of this warrior across the parallel lists illustrates how variant traditions were preserved in the transmission of the royal military records.
