Old Testament

Jaaziel (or Aziel) was a Levite appointed as a musician to play the bronze cymbals during the bringing of the ark to Jerusalem in David's reign.

Jaaziel, also called Aziel, was a Levitical musician appointed by David to play the lyre during the procession that brought the ark of the covenant to Jerusalem (1 Chronicles 15:18, 20). He was assigned to play instruments of the second rank alongside a group of Levites who accompanied the ark with harps, lyres, and cymbals. This musical event, described in 1 Chronicles 15–16, represents one of the most elaborate liturgical celebrations in the Old Testament, and Jaaziel's role placed him at the heart of Israel's worship renewal under David.
