Baanah

Baanah the Netophathite was one of David's thirty mighty men, listed in the military roll of honor in 2 Samuel 23:29 and 1 Chronicles 11:30. He came from Netophah, a town in Judah near Bethlehem, and his inclusion among the elite warriors reflects his distinguished service to David. His name should not be confused with the Baanah who, along with his brother Rechab, murdered Ish-bosheth and brought his head to David—an act David condemned and punished.
