Bukkiah, a Levite and descendant of Heman, was a musician in the temple during David's reign.
Bukkiah was a Levite son of Heman, the king's seer, appointed as one of the twenty-four musical divisions that David established for the temple worship (1 Chronicles 25:4, 13). He was assigned by lot to the sixth division, responsible for leading his group of twelve musicians in the ordained service of the sanctuary. Heman's sons were regarded as gifted musicians who served under David's direction to prophesy with harps, lyres, and cymbals.
