Old Testament

The Buzites were descendants of Buz, the son of Nahor, Abraham's brother.

The Buzites were the descendants of Buz, son of Nahor (Abraham's brother) and Milcah (Genesis 22:21), an ancient Semitic people group associated with the region of northern Arabia or Aram. They are referenced in the book of Job because Elihu, who spoke to Job in chapters 32–37, is identified as 'Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram' (Job 32:2). The Buzites represent one of the non-Israelite peoples who participated in the ancient wisdom traditions reflected in the book of Job.
