Cush was a son of Ham and grandson of Noah, listed as the father of Nimrod and other descendants who became nations (Genesis 10:6–8). His name is used in the Old Testament to denote the region of Nubia/Ethiopia south of Egypt, and his descendants are associated with the peoples of sub-Saharan Africa and Arabia.
