Dibri, of the tribe of Dan, was the father of Shelomith, whose son blasphemed the name of God and was stoned to death.
Dibri was a man from the tribe of Dan, mentioned in Leviticus 24:11 as the father of Shelomith, whose son by an Egyptian father blasphemed the Name of God during a quarrel in the Israelite camp. The incident prompted Moses to inquire of God, who established the law of blasphemy: the blasphemer was stoned by the entire congregation. Dibri's name is preserved solely through this tragic episode involving his daughter and grandson.
