Hadoram

Patriarchs (Abraham–Joseph) Early Patriarch · H1913A
Old Testament

Hadoram was a son of Joktan and a descendant of Shem, mentioned in the genealogies of Genesis and 1 Chronicles.

Hadoram was a son of Joktan, a descendant of Shem, listed in the Table of Nations (Genesis 10:27; 1 Chronicles 1:21) as one of the ancestors of the South Arabian peoples. The same name appears for the son of the king of Hamath who was sent to congratulate David on his victory over Hadadezer (1 Chronicles 18:10) and for the official who administered forced labor under Solomon and was stoned by the northern tribes (1 Kings 12:18, also called Adoniram). The genealogical Hadoram represents the ancient South Arabian nations in the ethnographic memory of Genesis.
