Put

Put was the third son of Ham and a grandson of Noah, listed in the Table of Nations alongside his brothers Cush, Mizraim (Egypt), and Canaan (Genesis 10:6; 1 Chronicles 1:8). He is generally identified with the region of Libya or north Africa west of Egypt, and his descendants appear in prophetic literature as warriors allied with Egypt and Tyre (Jeremiah 46:9; Ezekiel 27:10; 30:5; Nahum 3:9). The name Put corresponds to the Egyptian designation Punt, though some scholars associate it more precisely with Libya or Somalia.
