Tabrimmon

Divided Kingdom > · H2886
Old Testament

Tabrimmon was the father of Ben-hadad I, the king of Syria who was an ally of Asa king of Judah.

Tabrimmon was the son of Hezion and the father of Ben-hadad I, the king of Syria who was persuaded by Asa of Judah to break his treaty with Israel and attack the northern kingdom (1 Kings 15:18). Asa sent silver and gold from the temple treasury to Ben-hadad along with a treaty proposal, and Ben-hadad responded by capturing cities in northern Israel, relieving pressure on Judah. Tabrimmon is known only through this paternal reference in the narrative of the divided monarchy.
