Zaavan, a Horite chief, was a descendant of Seir the Horite.
Zaavan was a Horite chief, a son of Ezer and grandson of Seir, listed in the catalogue of Horite chiefs in Genesis 36:27 and 1 Chronicles 1:42. The Horites were the indigenous population of the region of Seir before the Edomites displaced them (Deuteronomy 2:12, 22). Zaavan is mentioned only in this genealogical list and is not associated with any narrative event in the biblical text.
