Old Testament

Dodavahu, son of Eliezer of Mareshah, prophesied against Jehoshaphat for his alliance with Ahaziah, king of Israel.

Dodavahu of Mareshah was the father of Eliezer, a prophet who delivered God's message of judgment to King Jehoshaphat of Judah (2 Chronicles 20:37). Eliezer prophesied against Jehoshaphat's commercial alliance with the wicked King Ahaziah of Israel, declaring that the joint fleet of merchant ships they were building at Ezion-geber would be wrecked and would not sail to Tarshish. The prophecy was fulfilled when the ships were wrecked before they could sail. Dodavahu is known only as the father of this lesser-known prophet.
