The Garmites, living in Keilah, were perhaps descendants of Gerem of Judah.
The Garmites are a clan of Judah mentioned in 1 Chronicles 4:19 in connection with Keilah, whose inhabitants—or at least one branch—bore this designation. The origin of the name is uncertain, though it may derive from a personal name Gerem or from a place called Garm. They represent one of the smaller clan units within the tribe of Judah whose identities were preserved in the Chronicler's genealogical records.
