Gedor was a son of Abiel (or 'Jeiel'), the father (ie re-founder) of Gibeon, and an ancestor of King Saul.
Gedor was a Benjamite from the clan of Gibeon, listed in 1 Chronicles 8:31 and 9:37 as one of the sons of Jehiel the father of Gibeon and an ancestor of King Saul. He is thus part of the genealogical line connecting the patriarchal Benjamite families with the royal house of Saul. His name was also borne by a town in Judah and appears in several Judahite genealogies as well.
