Old Testament

Jamlech was a leader from the tribe of Simeon during King Hezekiah's reign.

Jamlech was a leader from the tribe of Simeon who participated in the expansion of Simeonite territory during the reign of King Hezekiah, when these Simeonite princes led a military campaign to the valley of Gedor and then to Mount Seir (1 Chronicles 4:34–43). The Simeonite expansion recorded here reflects the ongoing process by which Israel's tribes sought additional grazing land. Jamlech is one of thirteen named princes who led this venture, representing the clan leadership of Simeon in the eighth century BCE.
