Jason was Paul's host in Thessalonica and a relative of Paul mentioned in his letter to the Romans.
Jason was a believer in Thessalonica who hosted Paul and Silas during their missionary visit and was dragged before the city authorities by a mob on the charge of harboring men who were acting against Caesar's decrees (Acts 17:5–9). He was forced to post bond before being released. A Jason is also greeted by Paul as his 'kinsman' in Romans 16:21, and if this is the same person, it would indicate that Jason later traveled to Rome or was with Paul during the writing of Romans. His courageous hospitality in Thessalonica exemplifies the personal risk faced by those who supported the Pauline mission.
