Jephunneh

Jephunneh was a son of Ithran (also called Jether) and a descendant of Asher, mentioned in the Asherite genealogy of 1 Chronicles 7:38. He should be distinguished from the far more prominent Jephunneh the Kenizzite, the father of Caleb the spy who brought a faithful report from Canaan and received Hebron as his inheritance (Numbers 13:6; Joshua 14:6–15)—that Jephunneh is from the tribe of Judah. The Asherite Jephunneh represents one branch of the Asherite family tree preserved in the Chronicler's genealogical records.
