Jokshan was one of the sons born to Abraham and his wife Keturah after the death of Sarah.
Jokshan was a son of Abraham and his wife Keturah, and the father of Sheba and Dedan (Genesis 25:2–3; 1 Chronicles 1:32). His descendants through Dedan—the Asshurim, Letushim, and Leummim—are associated with the trading peoples of northern Arabia. Abraham sent Jokshan and his brothers eastward with gifts to distinguish them from the covenant line of Isaac. He represents one of the ancestral figures linking the patriarchal family to the Arabian tribal world.
