The Tabbaoth were a family of temple servants who returned to Judah from Babylonian exile.
Tabbaoth was the ancestor of a family of Nethinim (temple servants) who returned to Judah from Babylonian captivity in the company of Zerubbabel and Jeshua (Ezra 2:43; Nehemiah 7:46). The Nethinim were dedicated workers assigned to assist the Levites in the service of the Jerusalem temple, and their return was essential for resuming full cultic worship. Tabbaoth is known only as the founding figure of this post-exilic family.
