星々

Heavenly bodies created by God that declare his glory and communicate his purposes. Genesis 1:16 records God creating 'the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night — and also the stars.' God compared Abraham's descendants to the stars (Genesis 15:5). A star announced Jesus' birth (Matthew 2:2). Job 38:7 speaks of creation's dawn 'when the morning stars sang together.' Psalm 147:4 marvels that God 'determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.' Daniel 12:3 promises, 'Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.'
