Ammihud

Exile Tribe of Judah · H5989K
Old Testament

Ammihud, a descendant of Judah, was among those who lived in Jerusalem after the exile.

Ammihud was a descendant of Judah through Perez, Hezron, Ram, Amminadab, and others, and was among those who resettled in Jerusalem following the Babylonian exile (1 Chronicles 9:4; Nehemiah 11:4). His return to the city of his ancestors was part of the deliberate repopulation of Jerusalem that Nehemiah organized, with lots cast to determine which families would dwell in the capital. Several other men named Ammihud appear in the Old Testament, including fathers of tribal leaders during the wilderness period (Numbers 1:10; 2:18; 34:20, 28), reflecting the name's widespread use across the tribes of Israel.
