Amminadab

Amminadab son of Uzziel was a Levitical leader from the Kohathite clan who was summoned by David to sanctify himself and assist in bringing the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem, following the failed attempt that had cost Uzzah his life (1 Chronicles 15:10–12). He led 112 men of the Uzzielite branch of Kohath. A more prominent Amminadab appears earlier in the genealogies as the father of Nahshon, leader of Judah in the wilderness, and the father-in-law of Aaron (Exodus 6:23; Numbers 1:7), and is listed in the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1:4 and Luke 3:33.
