Azmaveth

Azmaveth was a Benjamite warrior, identified in 1 Chronicles 12:3 as one of the skilled ambidextrous bowmen and slingers from Saul's own tribe who defected to David at Ziklag before David became king. His willingness to cross tribal loyalty lines made him part of a growing coalition that would eventually secure David's throne over all Israel. The name Azmaveth appears to have been an honored family name in Benjamin, as it also appears in later Davidic administrative records.
