Chelub

Chelub the Ishmaelite (or Calebite) was appointed by King David as the overseer of those who worked the royal farmlands (1 Chronicles 27:26). He managed the agricultural laborers—literally 'those who did the work of the field'—within David's system of royal estate administrators. His inclusion in David's administrative roster reflects the sophisticated economic organization of the Davidic kingdom, which required specialists to manage every sector of the royal economy.
