Helon

Exodus & Wilderness Tribe of Zebulun · H2497
Old Testament

Helon was the father of Eliab, a leader from the tribe of Zebulun during the wilderness wanderings.

Helon was the father of Eliab, the appointed leader of the tribe of Zebulun during the wilderness period, first mentioned in Numbers 1:9 at the first census of Israel. His son Eliab represented Zebulun in the census, the tribal offerings at the altar's dedication (Numbers 7:24–29), and the ordering of the camp. Helon is preserved solely through his son's official role, his name serving to identify the Zebulunite tribal leader in all the relevant administrative contexts.
