Jalam

Patriarchs (Abraham–Joseph) Edom · H3281
Old Testament

Jalam was a son of Esau and Oholibamah, and a chief of Edom.

Jalam was a son of Esau and his wife Oholibamah, listed in Genesis 36:5 among the descendants who were born to Esau in the land of Canaan before the family moved to Seir. In the Edomite chief list of Genesis 36:18, Jalam appears as one of the chiefs of Edom who descended from Oholibamah. As a son of the patriarch Esau, Jalam represents one of the founding lines of the Edomite nation, Israel's neighbor and frequent adversary throughout the Old Testament period.
