Josiphiah was the father of Shelomith, who was among the exiles who returned with Ezra to Jerusalem.
Josiphiah was the father of Shelomith, who led a group of one hundred and sixty men of the clan of Bani back from Babylon to Jerusalem with Ezra (Ezra 8:10). This return caravan included priests, Levites, and laypeople who accompanied Ezra's mission to restore proper worship in the Second Temple period. Josiphiah is known only through his son's leadership role in the restoration community.
