Ophrah

Ophrah was a son of Meonothai and a descendant of Judah through the lineage of Kenaz and Othniel, listed in the genealogy of 1 Chronicles 4:14. He appears alongside his brothers in the record of Othniel's descendants, which forms part of the complex Calebite genealogy in 1 Chronicles 4. His name, shared with two Israelite towns (Ophrah of Manasseh/Gideon's home in Judges 6; Ophrah in Benjamin in Joshua 18:23), reflects a common place-name that was also used as a personal name.
