Zalaph was the father of Hanun, who repaired a section of Jerusalem's wall.
Zalaph was the father of Hanun, who repaired a section of Jerusalem's wall from the Valley Gate to the Dung Gate during Nehemiah's rebuilding project (Nehemiah 3:13). A second Hanun, son of Zalaph, repaired another section of the wall at Nehemiah 3:30. These references preserve the names of otherwise unknown individuals whose labor contributed to the physical restoration of Jerusalem. Zalaph himself is known only through his sons' participation in the building project.
