Zimran was one of the sons born to Abraham and his wife Keturah after the death of Sarah.
Zimran was the firstborn son of Abraham and his wife Keturah, the woman Abraham married after the death of Sarah (Genesis 25:1–2; 1 Chronicles 1:32). He is the eldest of the six sons of Keturah, the others being Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. Abraham sent all the sons of Keturah eastward to the lands of the east with gifts, separating them from Isaac, the heir of the covenant promise. Zimran likely represents an Arabian tribe or region, though the specific identification is uncertain.
